CAPRICCIO
ITALIAN TENOR | OPER FRANKFURT
Director Brigitte Fassbaender‘s take on events that could have taken place in Paris in 1775, plays out in set and costumes by Johannes Leiacker inspired by the times when the work was composed: the 1940s – a time when the German national socialists’ cultural politics, even in France, was to entertain more than anything else - much like Strauss's last work for the stage. Mr. Moore appears as the Italian Tenor in Strauss' Capriccio with Oper Frankfurt.

DER FERNE KLANG
CHEVALIER | OPER FRANKFURT
Franz Schreker‘s opera was an overnight success when it received its world premiere in Frankfurt 111 years ago. Now it’s back in Damiano Michieletto’s wonderful production: a deeply psychological intimate work with extravagant theatricality and a logical concept create a place for Schreker’s evocative music. Mr. Moore appears as Chevalier in Der Ferne Klang with Oper Frankfurt.

the PRODIGAL SON

Britten chose 2 parables for his one-act operas: the Prodigal Son from the Gospel according to Luke and The Fiery Furnace from the Book of Daniel. Mr. Moore appears in the title role as the Younger Son in The Prodigal Son with Oper Frankfurt.

In the hands of the young Polish director Krystian Lada, Les contes d’Hoffmann is easy for us to identify with despite its multi-layered, dreamlike and absurd elements. As with any couple, Hoffmann’s relationship with Stella requires constant decisions to be made in the best interests of the individuals, their relationship and their careers. French conductor Sébastien Rouland has conducted the opera several times, most recently in Tokyo. Mr. Moore makes his debut as Young Hoffmann and Schlemil in Les contes d'Hoffmann with GöteborgsOperan.

CARMEN

On a sweltering hot summer evening, two young people who couldn't be more different meet on the streets of Seville: the fateful love of the impulsive factory worker Carmen and the inexperienced sergeant José pulls the unequal couple into a vortex of love, jealousy, hate and disgust. Georges Bizet has created an equally limitless wealth of grandiose melodies for this love that breaks all boundaries: habanera, flower aria, torero song, seguidilla, smuggler's fifth - all these sonorous masterpieces find their echo in the equally wild and gentle landscape of the St. Margarethen quarry, the becomes a parable for the most fascinating figure on the opera stage. Mr. Moore makes his debut as Don Jose in the summer of 2023.
