SEASON ENGAGEMENTS

In his 2020-2021 season, Mr. Moore makes his debut as an ensemble member with Oper Frankfurt in the role of Sir Bruno Robertson in I Puritani, and returns to the same stage throughout the year in Carmen, Werther, and more.

OPER FRANKFURT 

ENSEMBLE

Following his residency at the Metropolitan Opera as a member of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, Mr. Moore joins Oper Frankfurt as an ensemble artist for the 2020-2021 season.

LENSKY  | WOLF TRAP OPERA

CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19

Pushkin’s sweeping novel comes vividly to life in Tchaikovsky’s masterful opera. Arrogant Onegin’s careless rejection of innocent Tatyana’s confession of love sets into motion a series of events ending in a fatal duel. This deeply moving Russian tale of love, rejection, and remorse is brimming with highly melodic arias and a sweeping score. Mr. Moore appears as Lensky in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin with Wolf Trap Opera.

SIR BRUNO ROBERTSON | OPER FRANKFURT

Mr. Moore appears as Sir Bruno Robertson in Vincent Boussard​’s retelling of Oper Frankfurt's revival production of Bellini's sweeping historical drama. Soprano Brenda Rae appears as Elvira alongside tenor Francesco Demuro as Arturo. Conductor Oksana Lyniv leads from the podium.

COUNT OF GLORIA-CASSIS | OPER FRANKFURT

There wasn’t much worth taking when they raided the young farmer Fragoletto’s home, but it gave Fragoletto and Falsacappa’s daughter Fiorella the chance to fall in love. Now he wants to join the robbers, but has to prove himself first. Mr. Moore appears as the Count of Gloria-Cassis in Offenbach's lesser-known work. Directed by Katharina Thoma, conducted by Karsten Januschke.

CARMEN

LE REMENDADO  | OPER FRANKFURT

Director Barrie Kosky’s 2016 cult-production manages to capture the spirit of the enigmatic gypsy Carmen, returning to the way it was performed at the world premiere in 1875 at the Opéra-comique in Paris. Mr. Moore appears as the smuggler known as Le Remendado alongside Zanda Švēde in the titular role and Evan LeRoy Johnson as the explosive Don José.

WERTHER

SCHMIDT  | OPER FRANKFURT

Werther, a law student, suffers under social restraints and longs to be free. No human relationship can hold him back until he meets Charlotte, who's already engaged to be married. Mr. Moore appears as Schmidt in Massenet's version of the Goethe classic. Tenor Gerard Schneider sings the title role and mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez appears as his beloved Charlotte. Directed by Willy Decker, conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta.

DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES

CHAPLAIN  | OPER FRANKFURT

The events in Poulenc’s opera are based on historical facts: In 1794 the Carmelites of Compiègne became martyrs, singing "Veni creator" as they calmly went to the guillotine, one after the other. Mr. Moore appears as the Chaplain in Poulenc's operatic retelling of this story of faith and martyrdom alongside Maria Bengtsson as the timid Blanche. Directed by Claus Guth, conducted by Giedrė Šlekytė.
